Barons Shutout San Antonio 2-0

OKLAHOMA CITY--The Oklahoma City Barons picked up a big division win, shutting out San Antonio by a score of 2-0.
Goalie Martin Gerber tallied his fourth shutout of the season making 33 saves in the Baron’s win.
OKC got the scoring going in the first at the 10:10 minute mark when Alexandre Giroux scored on a power play to make it 1-0.
Giroux was assisted by his fellow linemate Colin McDonald and defenseman Anthony Aiello. It was Giroux’s 27th goal of the season.
Later in the second, Chris VandeVelde scored at 13:25 to go up 2-0.
Greg Stewart and Zack Stortini were credited with the assists. It was Stortini’s first assist as a Baron after being assigned to Oklahoma City on February 2.
The Rampage (31-19-2-0) amped up the pressure in the third period, outshooting OKC 13-4.
Oklahoma City (28-19-2-5) was outshot 33-29 in the 2-0 win.
The Barons next game will be played Feb.18 at 8 p.m. on the road against the Abbotsford Heat.
