TULSA, Oklahoma – Oral Roberts’ Damen Bell-Holter must have felt like he was back home in Alaska Thursday, as the temperatures dipped to what felt like -5 degrees in Oklahoma. Despite the chilly temperatures, he and teammate Steven Roundtree combined for 36 points in the Golden Eagles’ 77-73 win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The two also racked up 25 rebounds in ORU’s win, breaking a two-game losing streak in Summit League to improve to 10-14 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
Roundtree sank one of his two free throws with just nine seconds left in the game to seal the Jackrabbits’ fate. Clint Sargent shot a 3-pointer but Sargent was there to grab the rebound as the clock ran down.
ORU was led by Dominique Morrison, who had 22 points. Bell-Holter, who finished with his third-straight double-double, finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Roundtree ended the game with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
South Dakota State was led by Nate Wolters with 18 points.
The Golden Eagles will next host North Dakota State Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
