Sooners Still Winless in Conference

WACO, Texas -- The Oklahoma Sooners dropped their second-consecutive conference game Tuesday with a 74-61 loss to the Baylor Bears.
The Bears were dominant for the majority of the game, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the game’s opening two minutes which expanded to a 20-9 lead after 10 minutes.
Baylor saw their lead disappear in the final moments of the first half, when the Sooners hit three consecutive three pointers to close the gap to 36-32 at halftime.
A Steven Pledger three pointer cut the Bears’ lead to two points two minutes into the half, Baylor scored seven consecutive points to take a 46-37. That was the last time the Sooners would be within two points.
Baylor scored 11 of the game’s final 13 points to close the door on an OU comeback.
The Bears’ Perry Jones III led all scorers with 25 points and LaceDarius Dunn added 16 points and three steals.
Steven Pledger set the pace for Oklahoma with 17 points, while Cameron Clarke scored 16.
Oklahoma continues its two-game road trip at 3 p.m. Saturday in Austin against the No. 12 Texas Longhorns.
