NEW YORK CITY – The Associated Press released its final rankings of the season Tuesday, and Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa were all ranked in the nation’s Top 25.
OU finished the year ranked No. 6, OSU at No. 13 and Tulsa at No. 24. This marks the first time ever that all three teams finished the season ranked, adding to a season of unprecedented widespread success for the trio.
This year also was the first in which all three won 10 games, as well as the first time they all finished their seasons with a bowl victory.
Just one year ago, none of the three finished in the AP’s final rankings. Tulsa’s jump into the Top 25 gives the Golden Hurricane its first ranked finish in 19 years.
Auburn earned the final No. 1 ranking after winning the BCS National Championship with a victory over Oregon Monday night. Oregon dropped to No. 3 after the loss, while undefeated TCU finished ranked second in the nation.
