NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners stayed perfect at home this season with a 76-73 win over the Central Arkansas Bears Thursday.
The Sooners (7-6) built a big lead in the first half by shooting lights-out from the floor, hitting 76 percent of their field goal attempts and sinking five of their seven shots from behind the arc. Oklahoma rode their hot shooting to a 44-37 halftime lead.
However, Central Arkansas (4-9) kept it close in the second half by clamping down defensively, holding OU to just 45.8 percent from the floor. The Bears outscored the Sooners 36-32 in the second half, but couldn’t overcome the seven-point deficit.
Cameron Clarke led all scorers with 26 points – including 12 from three-point range – and seven rebounds. Andrew Fitzgerald chipped in 11 points, while Carl Blair scored eight and dished out five assists.
For the Bears, Imad Qahwash set the pace with 15, while Chris Henson scored 11 and grabbed nine boards.
Oklahoma will be back in action Monday Jan. 3 at home against Maryland Eastern Shore.
