TULSA, Oklahoma -- A record-setting night from forward Marshall Moses lifted Oklahoma State to a 71-54 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Wednesday.
The senior forward went a perfect 12-of-12 from the floor en route to a 31-point outing, marking his second consecutive game with 30 or more points. The last OSU player to record back-to-back 30-point games was Bryant “Big Country” Reeves in 1995.
The Golden Hurricane only held two leads throughout the game, both coming in the first half.
Less than three minutes into the game Tulsa trailed 4-3, however Joe Richard dunked the ball to give the Tulsa a 5-3 lead. However, Matt Pilgrim answered with a dunk of his own to retake the lead 17 seconds later.
Their next lead game 12 minutes later on a Justin Hurtt mid-range jumper to take a 24-23 lead; sixty seconds later a Moses jumper from the paint gave OSU a 27-24 lead.
Oklahoma State would hold that lead and cruise to the victory.
Moses was the high-water mark of the game, guard Keiton Page contributed 13 points and Matt Pilgrim scored 8 and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Tulsa senior Justin Hurtt contributed 14 points, the only Golden Hurricane player to notch a double-digit point total.
