OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Thunder are now 14-7, thanks in large part to the dominant duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
But what happens to a team’s dynamic when they lose their headliner to injury? In the Thunder’s case, Westbrook steps up and takes charge.
Westbrook earned the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week award for games played Nov. 29 through Dec. 5.
He averaged 25.5 points, 10.0 assists 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals to help Oklahoma City to a 3-1 record on the week. Westbrook posted a double-double in each of the team's three wins last week.
He also helped take on the scoring load when Kevin Durant was out with his injury, averaging 29 points during Durant’s two-game absence.
