Philadelphia -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane fell to the La Salle Explorers Sunday, 86-73, despite both Loren McDaniel and Tatum Beer finishing in double digit figures.
McDaniel recorded her first double-double ever with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Beer finished with 18 points on the day. Taleya Mayberry and Jermaine Kermis both contributed nine points to the Golden Hurricanes final score, but the offensive effort wasn’t enough to overcome La Salle.
The first half was a sloppy one for both teams, as La Salle turned the ball over 11 times and TU turning it over 14 times, but a slow start early in the game created a 12-point deficit for the Golden Hurricane by half. The Explorers led 38-26 at halftime.
Tulsa managed to put almost twice the amount of points on the board in the second half, but couldn’t hold off La Salle. The Explorers finished the game with five players in double digits. Ashley Gale led all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Michea Bryant had 16 points, Ebonee Jones finished with 15 points and both Jess Koci and Chelsea Conner contributed 14 points.
