TULSA, Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa basketball team announced Wednesday that it has excused guard Glenn Andrews from the team.
The junior has played in 79 career games and has averaged 7.3 point, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 34 percent from the field. He scored a total of seven points in the Golden Hurricane’s first two games this season.
“Obviously, the timing is not the best, but this is the appropriate decision for this basketball team and Glenn,” head coach Doug Wojcik said. “This is incredibly unfortunate. Although, this will give Glenn the best opportunity to rehabilitate his knee and if he desires to start fresh at another institution and gain potentially a sixth year of eligibility.”
Andrew suffered an ACL injury and received a medical hardship last season. He re-injured the knee in TU’s game against Oral Roberts Tuesday.
