NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Sooners recovered from a disappointing road loss with a dominant offensive performance in a 45-7 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday.

The Sooners (8-2, 4-2) moved the ball at will all day, racking up a total of 517 yards at the end of the third quarter. The majority of OU’s starters did not play in the fourth quarter, and it finished with 564 total yards.

Landry Jones continued his strong play at home, throwing for 328 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. Ryan Broyles broke two career records on his way to having eight catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns.

DeMarco Murray left the game in the first half with an injury to his ribs, opening the way for Roy Finch to lead the team with 12 carries and 67 yards. He also flashed his explosiveness in a 29-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

The OU defense also turned in an excellent performance, holding quarterback Taylor Potts to just 136 passing yards and forcing two turnovers. The Sooners also forced two turnovers on downs in the first half when the game was still within striking distance.

Oklahoma showed increased aggressiveness on both sides of the ball, and it started on the first snap. Landry Jones attempted a deep pass to Kenny Stills on the first play from scrimmage, which drew a 15-yard pass interference penalty.

The Sooners followed with two plays out of the Wildcat, and capped the drive with a swing pass for a touchdown to Murray. The Red Raiders responded with a touchdown drive of their own to tie the score, but that was the closest they came to the lead.

OU held Texas Tech scoreless for the final 55 minutes and scored 38 unanswered points. The Sooners will try to keep their momentum going on the road, where they have struggled all season. They will finish the season with road games against Baylor and the Bedlam game against Oklahoma State.
