Thunder Fall to Clippers for Second Straight Loss

OKLAHOMA CITY--The Los Angeles Clippers rebounded from an 0-4 start to beat the Thunder 107-92 Wednesday night inside the Staples Center.

Clippers rookie and former Oklahoma player Blake Griffin had a great night scoring 18 points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes of play.

Kevin Durant was off the mark all night missing every one of this ten of his three point attempts. Durant was held to 6-24 from the field for a total of 16 points and nine rebounds on the night.

The Clippers went on a big 25-6 run at the end of the first quarter.

The Thunder’s scoring was led by Jeff Green who had 19 points and nine boards, and he helped erase some of the first quarter deficit but scoring 13 points in the second quarter. Nevertheless, L.A. led by ten going into the half.

The Clippers outshout the Thunder in field goal percentage and three-point shooting. Los Angeles managed 52.5 percent from the field to the Thunder’s 37.8 and vastly dominated OKC from three point land with the Clippers shooting 50 percent to the Thunder’s mere 15 percent.

Los Angeles also capitalized on points in the paint, scoring more than half of their points (58) inside the lane, with 12 of those coming off fast-break situations.

Eric Gordon paced the scoring for the Clippers, finishing with 27 points, five boards and four assists.

Gordon and Griffin were also supported by Eric Bledsoe who added 17 points, pulled down four rebounds and eight assists.

This is the second consecutive loss for the Thunder who lost to Utah 120-99 inside Oklahoma City Arena.

OKC looks to get back on track Thursday on the road against Portland. That game tips at 9:30 CT and can be seen on TNT.
