OU Defensive End Jeremy Beal Named Lombardi Semifinalist

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma defensive end Jeremy Beal has been named one of 12 semifinalists Friday for the 2010 Rotary Lombardi Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top lineman.
Beal ranks 10th nationally in tackles for loss with 12.5, leads the team in sacks with six and has notched 32 tackles through seven games this season. If named the winner, Beal will become just the third Sooner to win the award, joining Tony Cassillas and Tommie Harris.
The list is comprised of 10 defensive players and two offensive players and the winner will be announced December 8, 2010 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
