ATHENS, Greece – The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both made the final cut for the USA’s 2010 World Championship team.
For the past two weeks, Westbrook was one of three guards in consideration to be cut from the roster, along with Stephen Curry and Eric Gordon.
But Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo withdrew from the squad, citing personal reasons, assuring Westbrook, Gordon and Curry all a spot on the team.
The Thunder is the only NBA team with two players on the roster.
The U.S. team has one more scrimmage against Greece on Wednesday, and championship play begins Saturday in Turkey and will run through Sept. 12.
