OKLAHOMA CITY – Reno started its barrage of runs early and Oklahoma City just couldn’t keep up in a 5-3 loss Thursday night at the Bricktown Ballpark.
All of the Aces’ runs came in the first four innings, but that was all it took as the RedHawks couldn’t get anything going offensively.
Reno started the scoring with an RBI double in the top of the second, followed by an RBI single to put the Aces up 2-0.
Oklahoma City responded in the bottom of the third on a Willy Taveras double, scoring second baseman Esteban German, but the RedHawks still trailed 3-1.
Reno added two more runs in the top of the next inning to go up 5-1.
The RedHawks got a bit of a spark on a home run from German in the bottom of the 7th and a sacrifice RBI from third baseman Matthew Brown in the 8th but it was too little, too late.
Guillermo Moscoso pitched six innings for Oklahoma City and gave up all five Reno runs in the loss. Matt Tora got the win for the Aces.
Oklahoma City will continue its series at 7:05 p.m. Friday against Reno at the Bricktown Ballpark.
