STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State University senior Nick Sidorakis will sacrifice his scholarship for the 2010-11 season and pay his own way in order to keep the Cowboys within the scholarship limit.
Sidorakis averaged 2.5 points per game as a junior. His best game last season came on the road at Kansas State, where he scored nine points and had four rebounds in an upset of the 10th-ranked Wildcats.
Oklahoma State had 15 scholarship players on its temporary roster after signing five high school players. NCAA rules allow for 13 scholarship players on a college roster.
Freshman forward/center Torin Walker transferred to Middle Tennessee State, freeing up a scholarship spot. The scholarship Sidorakis previously had will now keep OSU at the NCAA limit.
The Cowboys start exhibition play on Nov. 1 against OCU at 7 p.m.
