STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It was a day where things got a little more physical.
Oklahoma State practiced in full pads for the first time this season on Tuesday morning.
"It probably won't get any more intense than it did today,” said sophomore wide receiver Justin Blackmon. “It could be when we go out and scrimmage. Today was pretty intense and it should be like that about every day."
Said Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, “We finished with a few plays of full contact - not take them to the ground but I thought the guys practiced well today and I liked the temperature - it was hot - we were really able to exert our players."
That makes one person who was happy about the triple digit temperatures that were looming at the end of this morning's practice.
"We'd rather it be 75 and breezy but it's going to be like this on September 4th,” said junior quarterback Brandon Weeden. “On the turf it's going to be hot. You've got to get prepared like it's a game."
Things are moving right along for OSU. The Cowboys have their first scrimmage on Saturday and their season opener against Washington State is less than four weeks away.
