Oklahoma City RedHawks win Slugfest with Salt Lake Bees
A six-run inning gave the RedHawks the momentum to hold off the high-powered Salt Lake bats.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks topped the Salt Lake Bees 12-8 Thursday to avenge the series-opening loss a day earlier.
Oklahoma City (59-52) led 4-3 going into the third inning, but recorded six runs to take a commanding lead.
After Matthew Brown hit a leadoff triple, Max Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly two at bats later to bring him home and take a 5-3 lead. Two batters later, Guilder Rodriguez grounded out to second allowing Ryan Garko to score. Craig Gentry hit an RBI single in the next at bat to score Hernan Iribarren from third to take a 7-3 advantage. Two at-bats later, Rodriguez stole home and Brandon Boggs homered with Gentry still on base to take a 10-3 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth,Salt Lake City's (58-55) Terry Evans hit a sacrifice fly to right to bring Kevin Frandsen home from third . In the next at-bat, Luis Figueroa grounded into a double play, but Nick Gorneault made it home before the final out to close the gap to five runs. In the next inning, Hank Conger hit an RBI single to right field to bring Michael Ryan home and pull within striking distance.
Ramirez singled in the top of the sixth to bring Brown home from third and take an 11-6 lead. The Bees scored two more runs on a two-run single by Evans in the bottom of the seventh, but OKC added one more in the ninth to shut the door in the ninth.
Cody Eppley (1-1) was credited with the win for his 1.2 inning outing after allowing just one hit and striking out two. Amalio Diaz (3-4) received the loss for his start, after giving up seven earned runs on nine hits in just 2.1 innings pitched.
The series will continue at 8:05 Friday at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
