LAS VEGAS -- Four days after the close of Team USA Camp in Las Vegas, the team announced the first four players trimmed from the roster, but none of the Thunder players in camp were on the list.
Tyreke Evans, O.J. Mayo, Gerald Wallace and JaVale McGee were the first four players released from the international squad Wednesday as the team was narrowed from 19 to 15.
Kevin Durant, who has been thrust into a leadership role on the team, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook will all be in attendance at the next Team USA camp August 9.
The team will see one more round of cuts before the World Championships; the roster must be cut down to 12 players by August 26 – two days before the tournament starts in Turkey.
