LOS ANGELES -- After overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime, the Tulsa Shock fell to the Los Angeles Sparks 86-83.
The Shock strung together a 17-4 run to tie the game at 72-72 with less than two minutes left in regulation. Ivory Latta hit a pair of free throws with 46 seconds left on the clock, but Tina Thompson nailed a 13-foot jumper with 18 seconds left to force overtime.
With less than a minute left in overtime, Latta found forward Tiffany Jackson for a layup to tie the game at 81-81, but the Sparks finished the final 30 seconds of the game on a 5-2 run to hand the Shock its 17th loss of the season.
Los Angeles’ DeLisha Milton-Jones led all scorers with 26 points, while Tina Thompson contributed 15 points and six rebounds. Former Oklahoma State star Andrea Riley added five points in her nine minutes off the bench.
Scholanda Robinson led Tulsa with 19 points and Latta added 10 along with her six rebounds and seven assists. Marion Jones scored 11 for the Shock in her 21 minutes of play off the bench.
Tulsa will have two days to travel before taking on the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. in Tulsa.
