TULSA, Oklahoma -- Ryan Harvey’s bases-clearing double powered the Tulsa Drillers to an 8-2 victory over Northwest Arkansas in a rain shortened game Wednesday. The game was called before the start of the seventh inning due to weather.
Tim Smith scored the first run of the game to give the Naturals a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. However, that advantage did not last long.
Ryan Harvey stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the inning and ripped a double to left to put Tulsa on top 3-1. Harvey would advance to third on a wild pitch and score on a Daniel Mayora single. Mayora would score on Aaron Crow’s second wild pitch of the inning to cap a five-run third for the Drillers.
Anthony Jackson would cross the plate in the fourth inning and again in the sixth on a Bronson Sardinha two-run single.
Tim Smith hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth to give the Naturals their second run of the game.
That was one of the few mistakes Tim Weiser (5-4) made, as he went the distance giving up two earned runs in six innings.
Crow (3-5) was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) in four innings.
The Drillers continue their home stand Thursday when Arkansas comes to ONEOK Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
