TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Drillers lost the second game of a three-game series with the Midland Rockhounds 2-1 Thursday.
The game remained scoreless through three innings until Archie Gilbert hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Alex Valdez to give Midland (25-27) a 1-0 lead. In the next at-bat, Corey Brown homered to right field to push the lead to two runs.
Warren Schaeffer put the Drillers (21-30) on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a line-drive double to right field to bring Wilin Rosario home, but that was all Tulsa could muster.
Ryan Edell (1-0) was credited with the win for Midland after giving up five hits and one earned run in five innings of service. Tulsa got seven innings of work from Keith Weister (3-4), who allowed two earned runs on five hits in his outing.
The Drillers will close out the series with the Rockhounds Friday at 7:05 p.m. at OneOK Field.
