TULSA, Oklahoma –The mood inside the Tulsa Shock locker room is different than you probably imagine. Nobody’s pressing. No one is stressed out. Even after a 1-3 start to the season, the Shock players are overly upbeat about the way the team has played to start the year.

“You can tell evidently that we’re getting better,” said guard Natasha Lacy. “We’re trying. We’re working hard. We’re buying more in to (head coach Nolan Richardson’s) system.”

Lacy said the team’s confidence level is “very high”, and the team is excited about the season. The wins haven’t come rolling in the way the players would have liked to this point, but the effort is certainly there.

“When you look from a week ago, we have made strides,” said guard Shanna Crossley. “So, you have to look at it that way to keep yourself motivated and to keep yourself going, and not just look at the loss column all the time.

“We are making progress.”

Despite the incremental improvements, the team is still winless at home this season. They get a chance to change that Saturday against the Indiana Fever at 7 p.m.
