STILLWATER, Oklahoma --Texas A&M secured the sweep over Oklahoma State with a 6-1 win Sunday.
Brodie Greene got the Aggie (33-18-1, 12-11-1) offense going early with a solo home run in the third at-bat of the game. Greene added to the TAMU total in the bottom of the third with an RBI single to left to bring Scott Arthur home for a 2-0 lead.
Two at-bats later, Matt Juengel doubled to right to bring Greene home and push the lead to three runs. Joe Patterson scored on a wild pitch in the next at-bat to extend the lead to 4-0 over OSU (28-23, 8-16).
Oklahoma State’s only run came in the bottom of the sixth, when Nico Rosthenhausler doubled down the right field line to score Luis Uribe.
Texas A&M added two more runs in the top of the eighth. Juengel hit a solo home run to left field in the second at-bat of the inning, and three at-bats later a successful suicide squeeze by Andrew Collazo scored Adam Smith to take a 6-1 lead.
Michael Wacha (7-2) received a win for TAMU after pitching eight full innings and giving up one earned run on nine hits. Andrew Heaney (5-2) was credited with a loss for Oklahoma State. Heaney allowed six hits and four earned runs in his 6.1 innings pitched.
OSU will be back in action for a mid-week two-game series against Arkansas-Pine Bluff before closing out regular-season conference play against Baylor in Waco.
