Sooners' Bats Overtake Cowboys in First of Three Games
Oklahoma State took a commanding lead early, but Oklahoma scored seven straight to take the lead.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma rallied from a 4-0 deficit to claim a 7-6 win in the opening game of the Bedlam Baseball series.
The Sooners (34-12, 11-9) needed five home runs to overtake the Cowboys (26-19, 7-12) and claim a game one win.
Davis Duren started the game off with a single and stole second in the next at-bat. With two outs, Nico Rosthenhausler hit an RBI single to score Duren and give Oklahoma State a 1-0 lead. On the first pitch of the second inning, Dean Green hit a solo home run to right field to push the lead to two runs.
With two outs in the top of the third, Kevin David hit an RBI single to left field to bring Mark Ginther home and extend the OSU lead to three runs. Duren hit an RBI single in the top of the fourth to bring Josh Botts home and give OSU a 4-0 lead.
OU put its first run on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when Max White hit a solo home run after falling behind in the count. The Sooners added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth when Cody Reine and Chris Ellison hit home runs on back-to-back at-bats to close the gap to one run.
Three at-bats later, Cameron Seitzer hit a two-run home run to center field to give Oklahoma a 5-4 lead.
Zach Neal (6-1) was credited with the win for OU after pitching 6.2 innings after giving up nine hits and three earned runs. Tyler Lyons (3-4) gave up nine hits and seven earned runs while striking out seven in his 6.2 innings of service for OSU.
In the top of the eighth inning, Luis Uribe came in the game to pinch hit for Dusty Harvard. With Dean Green on base after being hit by a pitch, Uribe homered to left field to close the gap to 7-6.
Ryan Duke entered the game in the top of the ninth to close the game out for the Sooners. The junior reliever retired three of the four batters he faced to earn the save and clinch the win for OU.
The second game of the series will be played at 7:05 p.m. in Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
