LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 11 Oklahoma (26-9, 6-6) split a double header with Texas Tech on Saturday, winning 12-1 in the first game and losing 7-3 in the second game.
Zach Neal gave up just four hits in the first game and tossed the Sooners' first complete game of the season. Neal is the first Sooner to go the distance on the mound since Garrett Richards did it last year.
The OU offense scored in every inning but the second and fifth. Max White led the way at the plate by going 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, while Garrett Buechele went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.
Texas Tech got revenge in the second game with the help of three home runs.
Texas Tech starter Bobby Doran lasted seven innings and limited OU to one run off seven hits and two walks. Doran also struck out seven before handing the ball over to Chad Bettis.
OU loaded the bases in the ninth and plated two runs off Bettis, but was unable to produce a comeback victory.
Bobby Shore had his least productive outing of the season and lasted just 4 2/3 innings after surrendering seven runs of 10 hits.
Sunday's series finale is slated for a 1 p.m.
