OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks bounced back from a loss Monday to win the second game of a four-game series against the Round Rock Express 6-0.
The RedHawks (3-3) captured the shutout by first putting up two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, to account for the first two runs of the game.
Andy Jenkins hit a line drive off starting pitcher Josh Banks (0-1), reaching first. Hernan Iribarren homered, earning the innings two runs. Banks was then replaced at the mound by Evan Englebrook.
The Express (2-4) couldn’t answer back in the top of the seventh. Oklahoma City, however, was able to finish Round Rock by posting four additional runs.
Craig Gentry posted his first homer of the season to left field. Esteban German followed with a single and advanced to second on the next play when Chad Tracy reached first on a catcher interference. Justin Smoak was walked by Englebrook to load the bases. Mitch Mooreland hit a sacrifice bunt to send German in for the run. Jenkins followed with a double, as both Tracy and Smoak scored, putting the RedHawks ahead 6-0.
