HATTIESBURG, Mississippi -- Southern Mississippi defeated Tulsa 3-0 in the conclusion of their three-game series on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles’ Leslie Lejune hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to break a scoreless tie. USM (16-20, 1-11) would score another run later in the inning on a Golden Hurricane error to make it a 3-0 game.
Tulsa (22-16, 6-3) managed just three hits and did not advance a runner past second base.
Jackie Lawrence (9-6) was tagged with the loss for the Golden Hurricane after allowing three runs (two earned) in five innings. Gabby Luciani (7-7) earned the win for USM after going the distance with seven scoreless innings.
The Golden Hurricane host Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
