TULSA, Oklahoma -- It appears the Tulsa Shock didn't want to wait until the WNBA Draft to improve its team.
One day before the WNBA Draft, the team traded its No. 7 overall pick in the 2010 Draft and second-round pick in the 2011 draft to the Connecticut Sun for forward Amber Holt and center Chante Black.
Holt was a 2008 WNBA All-Rookie Team selection after averaging 6.5 points and starting all 34 games. The Middle Tennessee State graduate averaged 6.0 points and 3.2 rebounds last season, but missed 11 games with a broken right hand.
Black was selected 10th overall out of Duke in the 2009 WNBA Draft. As a rookie, she appeared in 33 games, starting eight and averaged 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest.
The Connecticut Sun now holds two first-round selections and four overall picks in the 2010 WNBA Draft.
