TULSA, Oklahoma -- The WNBA’s Tulsa Shock unveiled its home and road uniforms in a Wednesday press conference.
The uniforms consist primarily of black and gold colors called “Shock Gold” and “Shock Black” but also contain splashes of “Shock Red.”
The Shock will wear gold at home, feeling the color pops more than the traditional white.
“We wanted our home uniforms to have bright colors, not just be white,” team owner Bill Cameron said. “We thought having them in Shock Gold would be a great way to accomplish this. So, we want our fans to embrace our uniforms and get behind the team by wearing this yellow-gold color to all our home games.”
Shock players Marion Jones, Plenette Pierson and Alexis Hornbuckle were on hand to model the uniforms.
“Our color scheme of gold, black and red is very unique in the league, and these uniforms really showcase that uniqueness. The players will look great in them on the court and we can’t wait for the fans to see them in action,” said head coach Nolan Richardson.
The Shock plays its first game at the BOK Center against the Minnesota Lynx on May 15.
