MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State completed a series sweep of Oklahoma State with two victories on Sunday. The Wildcats (19-3) cruised in both contests, winning by scores of 9-3 and 13-3.
OSU held a 3-2 lead through six innings in the opener, but Kansas State proceeded to score seven runs over the next three innings and cruised to victory.
Kevin David and Dane Phillips both went 2-for-4 in the opener to lead OSU.
Thomas Keeling suffered the loss for the Cowboys, going 5 2/3 innings.
In the second game, OSU kept the game close until the fourth, when KSU scored eight runs off of three different Cowboy pitchers. The Wildcats sent 13 batters to the plate en route to building a 12-2 lead.
Freshman Kevin Chambers suffered the loss in the second game, allowing five runs on five hits in three innings.
OSU (14-6) returns to midweek action Tuesday and Wednesday when the Cowboys host Florida Gulf Coast.
