LINCOLN, Nebraska – The OU baseball team stretched its winning streak to five games and remained undefeated in conference play with a 4-1 victory over Nebraska Saturday.

The Sooners (20-2, 3-0) connected on clutch hits when they needed them, scoring all four of their runs with two outs. The first two runs came in the first inning with Max White’s two-run single. OU stretched its lead to 3-0 thanks to Chris Ellison’s RBI double.

The Cornhuskers (11-11, 1-4) got on the board with an RBI single by Kyle Bubak in the bottom of the fourth inning, but that was all the scoring they could muster. The Sooners finished things off with one more run in the top of the ninth inning that scored on a wild pitch.

OU got another strong outing from its pitchers. Bobby Shore started and got the win after giving up one run and striking out four in five innings of work. Jeremy Erben pitched two innings of shutout ball, and Ryan Duke finished things off in the ninth to earn his ninth save of the season.

The Sooners ended Nebraska’s 10-game home winning streak Friday, and now have handed the ‘Huskers their first back-to-back losses since early March against UCLA. OU will try to finish off the three-game sweep at 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
