TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa got behind and never recovered in its 8-0 loss in five innings Thursday to Northern Iowa. The Golden Hurricane dropped to 15-12 while UNI improved to 12-11.
The Panthers did all of their damage in just two innings. UNI started the game by scoring four runs in the first inning, including two off an illegal pitch. Courtney Dunker’s three-run homer in the fifth capped a four-run inning for Northern Iowa.
TU managed just two hits all game and only one was an extra base hit. Jordan Kinnard pitched just one inning and even though she was not charged with an earned run, she was tagged with the loss.
Tulsa starts a three-game series with East Carolina at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
