SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota -- The Oral Roberts women’s basketball team advanced to the Summit League title game with a 77-71 win over the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
The Golden Eagles were led by Summit League Player of the Year Kevi Luper, who scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds in her 32 minutes of play.
ORU did most of its damage in the early moments of the second half, starting the final 20 minutes on a 12-0 run to put distance between it and the Kangaroos.
UMKC responded with a 9-5 run to close the deficit to 54-50.
Luper made the move to put the Kangaroos in a hole with 3:53 left on the clock by scoring four quick points to extend the lead to eight points late in the second half.
Oral Roberts will play the winner of the other semifinal matchup between South Dakota State and Western Illinois, Tuesday at 3 p.m.
The Golden Eagles have beaten both teams twice this season.
