MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – Oklahoma State outlasted host Minnesota, 16-9, at the Dairy Queen Classic on Saturday.
The Cowboys (4-1) racked up 20 hits to go along with their 16 runs. Luis Uribe led the way at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs.
The Cowboys scored 12 runs in the first three innings, but Minnesota cut the Cowboy lead to 12-9 with nine unanswered runs.
OSU put the game away in the ninth, though, with a Uribe three-run homer and a Kevin David RBI.
Freshman Kevin Chambers picked up his first-career win and Brad Propst closed out the game for his first save of the season.
The Cowboys conclude tourney action Sunday against Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m.
