WACO, Texas -- Baylor swept Oral Roberts in a Saturday doubleheader. The Bears won the first game 14-2, and took the second contest 7-6.
Baylor (6-6) scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning of the opening game against ORU starter Mikey Torrence (0-1).
The Bears then broke the game wide open with a six-run sixth as Chris Slater hit a three-run homer to give Baylor a 14-2 lead.
Raynor Campbell's two-run homer put Baylor up 2-0 in the bottom of the first in the second game.
The Golden Eagles tied the game in the top of the second thanks to an RBI double by Brett Burch and a sacrifice fly by Robert Barbosa.
After Joey Winecki's two-run double in the fourth gave ORU a 4-3 lead, the Bears scored four in the fifth and held on for the win.
Spencer Roberts (0-2) took the loss in game two.
The Bears and Golden Eagles conclude their series at 1 p.m. Sunday.
