DALLAS --Tulsa ended its regular season with a 71-52 loss to SMU Wednesday. TU has lost back-to-back games heading into the Conference USA Tournament.
Taleya Mayberry had 17 points, and Larrissa Williams finished with nine for the Golden Hurricane.
Tulsa (12-15, 6-10) scored the first six points of the game, but then SMU (20-9, 10-6) reeled off 14 straight points and never gave the lead back. TU climbed to within one point, but the Mustangs ended the first half on a 13-6 run to take a 38-26 advantage into halftime.
SMU used a 14-5 run in the second half to expand on its lead for the 19-point victory. TU did not help matters by shooting 24 percent from the field, 15 percent from beyond the arc and 57 percent from the free throw line.
Brittany Gilliam led the Mustangs with 19 points and 10 rebounds
Tulsa is back at the Reynolds Center for the C-USA Tournament starting March 8.
