Golden Hurricane Hires Van Malone to Coaching Staff

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The University of Tulsa announced the addition of Van Malone to the Golden Hurricane coaching staff.

Malone, who spent the last four seasons with the Texas A&M Aggies, will serve TU as the defensive secondary coach. He has also coached at Arizona State, coaching running backs.

Malone’s experience includes coaching defensive backs at the University of North Texas and cornerbacks and special teams at Western Michigan.

TU’s new defensive secondary coach played five seasons in the NFL before suffering a career-ending injury in 1998.

The Golden Hurricane was 5-7 last season.
