WACO, Texas -- The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team lost its fifth straight game, this time to the Baylor Bears 80-69.
Their five-straight losses have dropped them from second in the conference to sixth place in the Big 12 with only four games left before the conference tournament.
Baylor jumped out to an early 8-3 lead, but OSU would answer back with a quick four points to draw within one.
The Bears offense could not be kept silent, and went on an 11-0 run with just over 10 minutes left in the half to take a 24-12 lead.
The two teams would trade baskets for the rest of the half, until Andrea Riley hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to close the lead to 42-33 at the break.
Riley continued to score after coming out of the locker room, scoring four straight in a 6-0 OSU run to close the lead to 42-39, but once again Baylor would answer back.
Kimetria Hayden hit a 3-point shot to extend the lead back to 6.
Hayden led the Bears scorers with 27 points, while Shanay Washington recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Cowgirls would stay in the game, until a three minute scoring drought would put the game out of reach.
Riley would finish the game leading all scorers with 38 points and four assists after playing all 40 minutes.
Oklahoma State (18-8, 6-6) tries to get back on the right track at home Wednesday against Texas.
