NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Corey Nelson, a linebacker out of Dallas, has changed his mind and signed with the Oklahoma Sooners. Nelson previously committed to Texas A&M, but had been waffling on that commitment. Nelson decided to take more recruiting visits to Tennessee and Oklahoma in January.
With an offer list that included some of the top programs in the country, Nelson had his choice of schools. He had offers from Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA and USC.
The 6-foot, 210-pound outside linebacker joins Joe Powell, a high school teammate who also signed with OU.
The signing of Nelson helped fill a hole that opened up when Jarrett Lake, a linebacker out of Tulsa, changed his mind and signed with Arkansas.
