EL PASO, Texas -- The Oklahoma Sooner players ditched their pads and cleats Tuesday and visited the troops serving at Fort Bliss in El Paso, the site of the 2009 Brut Sun Bowl. OU officials presented 784 Brut Sun Bowl tickets that had been purchased and then donated by Sooner fans to the troops at Fort Bliss.

The OU players spent time with the men and women in the United States Armed Forces at Ft. Bliss, explored a tank simulator, got behind the wheel of the simulator and tested their accuracy at a virtual military simulator.

Taking time out before the bowl games is a common tradition during bowl season. On the same day Oklahoma State visited Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.
