OKLAHOMA CITY -- The orange “Creamsicle” shoes the Thunder donned in its game against the Mavs have been autographed and will be auctioned in upcoming games.

Kevin Durant’s new KD2 Nike shoes made quite an impression on the hardwood, as most of the team wore the florescent footwear against Oklahoma City’s Dec. 16 game against Dallas. Although the Thunder fell to the Mavs 100-86, Durant and teammates are using the shoes they wore during the game for a good cause.

The autographed sneakers will be auctioned off during three home games to benefit the Oklahoma City Thunder Community Foundation. The foundation allows the players to give back to the Oklahoma City community through an array of events and gifts.

“This is a tremendous donation from our players to assist the Thunder Foundation with its mission to make a positive, significant impact on the community,” said Christine Berney, director of community relations. “It’s also a chance for our fans to bid and win a piece of Thunder history.”

The Thunder have already held auctions during the Dec. 18 game against the Pistons and the Dec. 26 game against the Bobcats, but fans can still place their bid for a pair of the signed sneakers Dec. 31, as the Thunder host the Utah Jazz.
