Oklahoma State Facing Adversity in Cotton Bowl

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It’s the last opportunity for some Oklahoma State players to play in orange and white. With a win in the Cotton Bowl against Mississippi, the Cowboys could tie the most wins in a season and send the senior class out with a win.

“It would be something you could always hang your hat on in the career after college football,” said linebacker Andre Sexton. “It would be something you can always brag to your kids about when you come back to OSU games. It’s something to talk about with the fans. It would be something nice that all of us could have forever.”

Quarterback Zac Robinson started the season strong, but suffered a head injury against Texas Tech and played poorly against Oklahoma.

The time off has given Robinson a chance to get healthy, and the big stage gives him one last opportunity to impress NFL teams.

“I’m getting better. It’s obviously frustrating not being completely healthy,” said Robinson. "We’ve still got a lot of time and I continue to get better every day.”

But with all the adversity they’ve had to face this season, the Cowboy players are just happy to have a shot to play in a big-time bowl.

“We’re happy with what we got, because we’ve earned everything we’ve got,” said defensive end Jermiah Price. “We’re playing in the Cotton Bowl; it’s the closest bowl to going to a BCS bowl. We’re happy with that.”
