Cowboys Try to Move Past Bedlam Disappointment

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It wasn’t the way the Oklahoma State Cowboys saw their regular season ending.

When the final gun sounded, OSU was on the wrong end of a 27-0 Bedlam game beatdown and watched its hopes of a BCS bowl fall by the wayside.

A loss like that is hard to get past.

“It definitely wasn’t a pleasant experience,” said offensive lineman Andrew Lewis. “After having two weeks off to regain your focus and come back to bowl practice, I think our offense is confident in coming back. I think it’s a lot easier to get over this than it was two weeks ago.”

The Cowboys were unable to get anything going in Norman against their rival Sooners, but football is a game of short memories and Oklahoma State players need to move past it if they want to end the season with a win.

“We’ve forgotten about it and we forgot about it quickly,” said quarterback Zac Robinson. “We’ve had a couple weeks off to rest our bodies and get ready for the bowl practices. We’ve come back and everybody is fresh, there’s been a lot of enthusiasm. I think guys are ready to play a game again and get that out of the way.”

But to the coaching staff, it’s not a matter of being ready to move on. They must move on.

“They don’t have a choice. You have to move forward,” said head coach Mike Gundy. “It’s like somebody pours cold water over you when you get back on the field and when you’re out there with the players it’s just enjoyable to be out there.”
