Springfield, MISSOURI -- Larrissa Williams recorded her 32nd career double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, but she couldn’t save Tulsa from extending its losing streak to three against Missouri State Tuesday. The Golden Hurricane lost 88-73.

Tatum Beer also scored in double figures, hitting hit four 3-pointers for 12 points, while Taleya Mayberry, Jermaine Kermis and Teka Brooks each had eight points. Mayberry and Kermis each picked up four assists, Kermis added four steals and Brooks had three blocks.

TU (3-4) and MSU (5-3) traded baskets early and the Golden Hurricane held an early lead, but the Bears rode a 13-4 run to take the lead. Missouri State eventually stretched its lead to as much as 22 points and held an 18-point lead at the end of the first half.

TU was able to outscore the Bears in the second half, but was unable to overcome the big halftime deficit. The Golden Hurricane’s shooters struggled throughout the night, shooting 39 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range.

After winning its first two games of the season, TU has now lost four of its last five. The Golden Hurricane will try to get back on the right track Saturday against cross-town rival Oral Roberts. The two teams will face off at 2 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
