Parental Kidnapping Suspect, Son Located In Arkansas

CARTHAGE, Missouri -- A 12-year-old boy from Missouri who was allegedly kidnapped by his biological father on May 13, 2011 has been found safe, the Jasper County Sheriff's office said Tuesday.

Deputies said they found Kevin Smith and his son, Levi Smith, in Arkansas. 

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office said Kevin Smith took Levi Smith on Friday and may have had the help of Levi's biological mother, Angela Eli, of Muskogee.

Kevin Smith was arrested after the two were located in Arkansas Tuesday, the Jasper County Sheriff's office said.  Deputies said Levi Smith was taken into protective custody.

No other details were immediately available, including what role Levi's mother may have had in the incident.
