TULSA, Oklahoma -- It was out with the old and in with the new at Tulsa Tech Friday. The school held a dedication ceremony for its new M-D 80 aircraft.
American Airlines donated the plane so students would have something current to work on as they learn about all its systems and how it's put together.
"A lot of people are just fascinated by something big and shiny in the hangar," student Benjamin Leskowat said. "But a lot of people who know the significance of something of this size actually having landed here at Tulsa Technology Center and all the efforts people went through to come and get this here... a lot of people who know all that, are very excited as far as the upcoming few months and what we'll get to do with this aircraft."
Tulsa Tech says since American Airlines still uses these planes students will be able to hit the ground running after graduation.
