TULSA, Oklahoma – A Tulsa elementary school principal recently reinstated after her arrest in March has filed a lawsuit against the Chief of Police for Tulsa Public Schools, according to court records.

According to documents filed Wednesday, Lynnette Dixon is suing Gary Rudick for comments he made in an email to a Tulsa police officer. In the email, Rudick encouraged Dixon's prosecution after she was arrested for interfering with police.

In papers filed in court on Wednesday, Dixon claims Rudick intentionally interfered with her TPS contract and tried to get her fired. She also claims Rudick caused severe emotional distress that resulted in physical pain and the loss of status in her profession.

According to court papers, Dixon is asking for $75,000.

Dixon had been suspended from her job at Hawthorne Community School, but was reinstated on April 28, 2011, just days after the city dismissed her case.

Rudick was put on unpaid leave and returned to work on Monday, May 9, 2011.
