TULSA, Oklahoma -- For the second year in a row, students at Grissom Elementary School at 6646 South 73rd East Avenue in Tulsa broke the 10,000 mile barrier as part of their walk/run challenge at the school.
School officials say the challenge is to have the students in the 101 Mile Club walk or run 100 miles during the school year.
This is the fifth year for the challenge and Thursday morning school officials, including Superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard, joined the students as they walked around the school's outdoor track.
This school year more than 50 Grissom Elementary School students have completed their 100-mile goal.
