Sand Springs Street Overlays Set For Early May Start

SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- The City of Sand Springs will see another round of pavement overlays – weather permitting – beginning the week of May 2. The project includes 21 streets and about six miles of roadway.

Crews are planning to start on north side streets then move on to the remaining local streets. Curbed streets will be milled prior to the overlays so the pavement edge and gutters match. The milling will be scheduled during the project to minimize inconveniences to drivers and residents, according to T.J. Davis of Sand Springs Public Works.

Some of the streets will also be modified with ramps to provide handicapped access. The work will be done by Tulsa County road crews.
