BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma -- A Bartlesville man has been ordered to stand trial in connection with a 2009 building fire in his Washington County community.

At the conclusion of a preliminary hearing in Washington County District Court on Tuesday, the judge said there was sufficient evidence to support the arson charges against Robert Boyce.

The fire destroyed the May Brothers building in August 2009.

A fire investigator testified Tuesday that the fire started at multiple points on the second floor of the building and gasoline was the accelerant.

An insurance agent also testified Tuesday that Boyce had taken out an insurance policy on his restaurant in the building for $375,000 and shortly after the fire had filed a claim for $375,000.

Boyce's next court hearing is set for June 22, 2011 in Washington County District Court.
